Recommendations of the German Association for Public and Private Welfare regarding the 2024 election of the European Parliament

European integration and the founding of the European Union is one of the most successful political peace projects in modern history. Created in the terrible wake of two world wars and in the hope of reconciliation, we are united for the better in the European Union. We are convinced that in a time of overlapping crises, a peaceful future can only be secured through cooperation and unity. Europe thrives on unrestricted respect for democracy, human rights and the rule of law. We defend these values collectively against populist, nationalist or antidemocratic forces. It is therefore the task of the European Union to strengthen the structures of civil society. By providing quality social services, strong non-profit organisations and municipalities reduce social differences and divisions and work to achieve equal living conditions in all European regions.
